Makes 6 servings

    Ingredients:

      1lb lean ground beef
      1lb lean ground pork
      1 large onion, chopped
      1 large green pepper, chopped
      2 jalapenos, chopped
      1 garlic clove, minced
      2 Tbsp chili powder
1-32 oz. can whole tomatoes, drained
      4 oz beef broth
      4 oz flat beer
      1 Tbsp paprika
½ tsp each: oregano, ground cumin, crushed red pepper
      Pinch of sugar
      Dash of Tabasco

    Directions:

Saute ground beef and ground pork until browned; remove meat and drain. Add the onion, green pepper, jalapenos, garlic and chili powder; saute for 8 minutes (yes, you will cough - open the windows). Add everything else, including browned meat. Simmer, covered, for 1 hour. Remove lid and simmer an additional 1-2 hours uncovered. For best results: Remove from heat and refrigerate overnight. Reheat and serve the next day.
